My first post I am going to do a rundown of upcoming MMOs and my quick thoughts on them. Over next few days I may go into more detail. A quick rundown of me.... I am a PC Gamer at heart. I love all genres. Addicted to TV Shows on DVD. Love Martial Arts, MMA, Skiing, and Cooking. New Yorker living here in St. Louis.
Things are going to get interesting in the MMO world with more mainstream MMOs set to be released over next year and a half than ever before in such a time period.
A quick overview:
Huxley: Unofficially dead for the consoles and expecting a release for the PC only. However who wants a Korean FPS when there are a million others for free?
Star Wars The Old Republic: Holds more potential for uniqueness in an MMO since.... EVE Online. Also has the problem of having higher expectations of any MMO that I can think of ever....
Fallen Earth: Beta has shown it won't survive mainstream market
Champions Online: Early Beta reviews were poor, but things have been looking up. Should replace City of Heroes/Villians rather easily regardless.
DC Online: I have a feeling will win out for the crown of the Superhero MMO genre between Champions, CoH and CoV.... but lets wait for early beta reviews to get a feel for whats going on.
Star Trek Online: The original concept sounded amazing and offering of a new experience. Sadly, outside of the writing for it, I think its going to be another standard MMO like 95% of the MMOs released since Everquest.
Aion: Beta has already bombed.... nuff' said. Lineage II + space = FAIL
APB: I missed the beta :( could be interesting but have a feeling it'll be a casual MMO.
Stargate Worlds: Well I will play this one regardless of reviews, bugs, or anything because of one simple thing.... The story/lore/writing. I love the Stargate Universe, outside of Farscape it is my favorite.... and from 2 people I know of who have played the Beta have said the same thing... bugs need to be worked out in gameplay, but it really feels like the Stargate Universe and the lore is amazing. Oh.... and for those that don't know, Stargate Worlds developed the cover system that The Old Republic is supposedly using.
New Blizzard IP MMO: Probably be a WoW - clone with different story and upgraded graphics. In other words... average across the board, not a single unique feature, not the best in any category... but that is what gets you the most subscribers.
Mortal Online: I have a feeling it will go the way of Darkfall, or be too hardcore to sustain itself with subscriptions.
Final Fantasy XIV: Potential, will have a huge number of unique subscribers at launch. Will it overcome the problems they had with FFXI though?
The Agency: I see this being a sleeper hit, if SOE doesn't fuck it up... Who doesn't want a spy-themed MMOFPSRPG haha.
Lego Universe: As the comic said... wait for the screams of "The Red Block needs to be nerfed". I think this will also be a sleeper hit if it isn't aimed solely at children.
Jumpgate Evolution: One could wish this was EVE Online without time-based skills... alas it is not. However it should satisfy those wanting a new space MMO.

about the graphics.. if runescape can be popular...
One you forgot was Guild Wars 2...though I guess we don't really know how "upcoming" that is...hopefully soon enough.
@dowekeller Me too, however good or at least decent "average" graphics will grow the player base in the beginning quicker than something like Fallen Earth has. An MMO that really does the community right, will cause many of their players to... well be better than your usual stereotypical WoW MMOers because they will come to respect the game and their fellow players.
Game Servers now open 24/7
It’s our goal to make this game the best it can be. And since this is the first time the game servers are open 24/7, we’re keeping certain weekdays optional for temporary maintenance shutdowns if needed. The temporary close down periods will be announced here on the Beta Center, so stay tuned for relevant updates.
Also, the German Beta was released last week. So, if you want to go German, all you have to do is open the game launcher as usual, click the American flag at the bottom and choose “LEGO Universe Beta EU”. Es ist super klasse!
